From a Small Bulb to a Big Mission
In 2008, a broken bulb in the headlight of a car ignited a vision: to make car parts more affordable and accessible to everyone.
That moment led to the launch of our first online shop. Today, it drives everything we do by helping customers keep their cars safe, reliable and ready for the road.
The First Spark
It all started in Berlin with a single car repair. When a part failed, Vitalij Kungel realized how difficult it was to find the right replacement quickly and at a fair price. Talking with Alexej Erdle and Max Wegner, they saw the same frustration shared by countless drivers. A lack of transparency, high costs and limited options.
In that moment, they envisioned a better way: an online platform that would make parts affordable and accessible, empowering car owners to take repairs into their own hands. What began as a small idea quickly grew into a mission that still drives AUTODOC today.
Early Challenges, Bold Steps
Starting with just a handful of products and a tiny warehouse, the founders personally handled orders, packed boxes and answered customer calls. Every day brought new challenges, from building supplier relationships to creating a website that could handle growing demand.
Their determination paid off. Within two years, AUTODOC was serving customers across Germany, and soon after, expanding into Austria and Switzerland. Step by step, the company grew from a local startup into a cross-border business.
Shaping a Customer-First Culture
From the very beginning, the founders believed that listening to customers was the key to success. Feedback wasn’t just welcomed, it shaped every decision, from product selection to delivery speed.
This mindset became part of AUTODOC’s DNA. It guided the launch of new services, inspired the creation of helpful tools like AUTODOC CLUB and drove the expansion into professional solutions such as AUTODOC PRO.
Even today, that early focus on customer needs remains at the heart of everything we do.
